BUS & TRAINS
The X53 Jurassic Coaster service will get you to Bredy House and also get you around the area during your stay. Running between Weymouth and Axminster this service also stops at Abbotsbury, Charmouth and Lyme Regis. If you fancy exploring further afield hop on the train at Axminster for a day exploring the beautiful cathedral city of Exeter to the west. From Weymouth you can take the train east to explore the beautiful market town of Wareham or Poole with its impressive harbour.
There are train services from London which will get you to Dorset with train stations at Dorchester, Weymouth and Axminster . South Western Railway run a regular service between London Waterloo and Weymouth. From this service you can either disembark at Dorchester and catch the X51 bus to Bridport or from Weymouth catch the X53 bus which will drop you off close to Bredy House. Regular trains also run between London Waterloo and Axminster where you can pick up the X53 bus which will drop you off close to Bredy House.
Fancy a day out on a steam train?
The Swanage Railway offers a more intensive heritage steam and diesel timetable train service than virtually any other preserved railway.
Visitors can experience a unique journey through six miles of beautiful scenery passing the magnificent ruins of Corfe Castle, travelling down to the blue flag beach at Swanage.
You can even drive and fire your own steam train.
